Florida Statute 985.223 provides for competency restoration services to juveniles (up to age 18) who are mentally ill or mentally retarded, charged with a felony in juvenile court and found incompetent to proceed to trial due to mental illness and/or mental retardation.
Services are provided in a 48 bed secure residential facility or in the community as ordered by the courts.
