Due to an act of Congress in 1978, USA Baseball is the National Governing Body for the sport and represents baseball in America as a member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and the International Baseball Federation (IBAF).
USA Baseball is responsible for promoting and developing the game of baseball on the grassroots level, both nationally and internationally.
USA Baseball began selecting and training an official National Team in the 16-under age category in the summer of 1997.

 Roger Clemens Award - Baseball USA
One of the three beneficiaries of the Clemens Award Dinner, Baseball USA opened in 1999 with a mission statement that promised to promote the game of baseball in the greater Houston area and improve the level of play while having a positive influence on youngsters.
A non profit, 501(c) 3 corporation, Baseball USA offers up an environment where the game of baseball can either be played and experience for the pure fun of the game, or with the goal of one day earning a scholarship or opportunity to play professionally.
Baseball USA maintains seven lighted baseball and four lighted softball fields in configurations to meet the requirements of all levels of play.
