USA Next (United Seniors Association) considers itself to be the conservative alternative to the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) which it regards as too liberal.
USA Next’s goal is to attract one million AARP members to their side—a goal it says is feasible given that 37% of AARP’s membership identifies with the Republican Party.
Although both USA Next reps and the White House deny that they are working jointly on reforming Social Security, Jarvis affirms: “We know the people at the White House agree with us and we agree with them.” Jarvis has publicly stated his group’s intention to devote at least $10 million to the effort.
