I understand the whole Prometheus bit but what I was saying is that since we dont have those powerful engines and stuff in real life today, things have to be aerodynamic to fly at high speeds through atmosphere.

Also, the bit about the President denying O'Neill's request to name it Enterprise is suspect; according to my memory SG-1 named the ship while en route to Othala, completely out of contact with Earth.

I just saw the latest episode of SG1 to air here in the UK, where the X-303 Prometheus is forced to eject it's hyperspace reactor, and has to get use of the stargate on a nearby planet.
I mean, Navy warships would be run in the same way as Prometheus and her eight sisters.
I click the link expecting at the very least content from "Prometheus" or the episode right after that since those are the only two episodes that feature the X-303 that have aired in North America.
