Prologue: Per orders received from Bureau of Personnel (3 Jan. 1944), assumed command of USS Puffer SS-268 on May26th, 1944 from Cdr Pascal Mauron.
Proceeded with drills and test dives, initiated the new crew in the deep dunker's club taking the Puffer down to 400 ft., this is 125% below her test depth of 300 ft. and should allow us to evade severe depth chargings by the nips.
