  Bonita Beach
The first USS ''Bonita'' was a schooner, launched in 1846, that served in the Mexican-American War.
The second USS ''Bonita'' (SS-15) was a submarine, renamed ''C-4'', that patroled the east coast of Central America during World War I. SP-540, a 46-foot motorboat of 1917-1918, was also known as ''Bonita''.
The fourth USS ''Bonita'' (SSK-3/SS-552) was a ''Barracuda''-class submarine launched as ''K-3'' as part of Project Kayo during the Cold War.

Shortly after reporting aboard the USS POLLUX he was promoted to CSK (SKC) because of his former military experience as a Sergeant Major in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and his longshore experience.
His career naval highlight was being a plank owner of the USS Arkansas and as Command Master Chief of the USS San Diego.
He also served aboard the USS Tolavara (AO-64) and was discharged in May 1960 as a SK2.

 Immigrant Ship Information
USS Charger as built by Sun Shipbuilders of Chester, PA as the cargo ship Rio de la Plata in 1940.
In December 1941 she was seized by the USA and became the troopship USS "Hermitage".
Returned to Italy in 1947, she was reconditioned in 1948 and fitted with a new raked bow which gave her an overall length of 665ft, and a tonnage of 23,562.

Sold to Mendota SS Co, Liverpool in 1895, she was renamed MENDOTA and in 1900 went to C. Parodi, Genoa and named ANGIOLINA.
Sold to the New York - Naples SS Co in 1922, she sailed from New York to Gibraltar and Naples where she was seized for debt and was sold and scrapped the following year.
Built by Barclay, Curle & Co, Glasgow in 1903 for the Union-Castle Mail SS Co, she was used mainly on the UK - Mauritius service, mostly with cargoes of sugar.
