USS Dorado (SS-526), a Tench-class submarine, was the second submarine of the United States Navy to be named for the dorado, the Spanish language name for the fish also known as the dolphinfish and the mahi-mahi.
Her keel was laid down, but construction was canceled on 29 July 1944.
