Comments: I was a Sonar Technician on the USS Ernest G. Small DDR/DD838 from 01/67 until 11/70.
Comments: I was a Radioman 2/c on the USS Tortuga, LSD 26 at Oppama, Japan when we left with the Small after her false bow was attached.
Comments: I was an STG on The Small during her 27 month WESPAC deployment and left her in December 1966 at Pearl Harbor.

The Gearing Class Destroyer USS William R. Rush DD 714 was commissioned in 1945.
USS Rush was then transferred to the navy of the Republic of Korea and became ROKS Kang Won DD 922 operating with the South Korean Navy until 1979.
All 105 Gearing Class Destroyers from the USS Gearing DD 710 to the USS Meredith DD 890 are available in a multitude of configurations and sizes.
