The city of Fargo is the crossroads and economic center of a large portion of eastern North Dakota and a small part of western Minnesota.
Fargo sits on the western bank of the Red River of the North in a very flat region known as the Red River Valley.
Fargo (film) - a 1996 Coen brothers film named after Fargo (though the city is only mentioned briefly at the beginning and most of the film actually takes place in Minnesota).

 USS Tallahassee (CL-116) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
USS Tallahassee (CL-116) was to be a Fargo-class light cruiser of the United States Navy.
The ship was laid down on 31 January 1944 at Newport News, Virginia, by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co, but as the collapse of Japan became apparent, the contract for her construction was cancelled on 12 August 1945, and her hull was scrapped on the ways.

Fargo (CL-106) was launched 25 February 1945 by New York Shipbuilding Corp., Camden, N.J.: sponsored by Mrs.
Fargo sailed from Philadelphia 15 April 1946, with Vice Admiral B. Bieri embarked for a good will cruise to Bermuda, Trinidad, Recife, Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo, from which she took departure on 31 May for the Mediterranean.
Through her remaining 2 years of service, Fargo completed two more tours of duty in the Mediterranean, and twice joined in large scale exercises in the Caribbean.

In 1946 the U.S.S. Fargo took a goodwill tour of South America with Vice Admiral Bieri onboard.
On June 3, 1946 the USS Fargo went to Trieste when Yugoslavia obstructed the Allied Military Government in place at the time.
