 USS Healy (DD-672) Information
USS Healy (DD-672) was a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy, named for Commander Howard R. Healy (1899–1942) who had distinguished himself on board Lexington (CV-2) during the Battle of the Coral Sea.
Healy was assigned 1 February to escort damaged battleships Washington (BB-56) and Indiana (BB-58) to Majuro, and rendezvoused with the carriers there 4 February.
Healy steamed off Japan with Missouri (BB-63) and other units preparatory to the formal surrender, then acted as harbor control vessel at Tokyo Bay until after the ceremonies, departing 5 September with passengers for the United States.

 William L. Healy
In World War II he was stationed on the boat, the USS Healy, in the Pacific after his original station on the submarine.
The USS Healy was named after his uncle who saved a whole ship full of people in the Battle of the Coral Sea which only involved planes on ships, and the enemy ships never saw each other.
As William L Healy was on the ship the USS Healy, he spotted a plane that went down into the Pacific and radioed for the rescue team and it turns out that the plane belonged to George Bush Sr.

Yes the Atomic bomb was a nightmare for them and caused a great loss of life but to the Americans they still had a naval base called Pearl and the thousands of sailors that died there due to their aggression burning in their minds.
She is there to mark the close of WWII as the USS Arizona marked the opening of WWII.
IMO the reason none of the major US carriers of the third fleet were in Tokyo Bay was a safety net just in case the Japanese did not honor the formal surrender the carriers would not be in any danger and a majority of their planes were flying in formation overhead of the Bay.

Therefore, by the same measure, events recorded in the Healy's log on "June 20, 1944"'s section, actually are occurring primarily on June 19, 1944--with again, the June 20 date being the date that section ends, rather than the date on which it begins.
Additionally, the log of the USS Princeton, while it records the shoot-down of the "Betty" as occurring on"June 23," does so only after it would appear that the USS Healy had pulled into the "guide" or "lead" position in the formation.
Once the Healy pulled into the lead, it's possible its log was the reference point of the formation for whatever time it remained in the lead.
