 USS LST Ship Memorial - Progress Report
USS LST-325 is seeking government earmarked funds to help in the restoration of the ship.
USS LST-325's mission is to educate all to the role the LST played to keep America free, and to preserve the memory of these ships and the men who served and died on them.
He also maintained a website for LST 325 which included all of his situation reports, as well as many photographs showing the hard work done in Greece getting the ship seaworthy – that site is a must-see for anyone who hopes to understand what it took to bring this ship home.

The USCGC Taney, a notable World War II era High Endurance Cutter, is the only warship still afloat today that was present for the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, although she was actually stationed in nearby Honolulu.
On August 27, 1944, the all Coast Guard-manned USS LST-327 stuck a mine or was torpedoed while crossing the English Channel.
As was common during this period, many of Hollywood's able-bodied screen stars became enlistees and left their film careers on hiatus in order to support the national defense.

Served on USS Hunley AS-31 from 4/66 to 8/66.

USS Comstock (LSD 45) and several Indonesian naval and marine officers to prepare for the amphibious operations.
Confirmation for the comprehensive off-load involved very detailed planning as they had to allow for the four ships and their marine corps personnel to conduct a near simultaneous landing on the beach.

 U.S. NUCLEAR TESTING FROM PROJECT TRINITY TO THE PLOWSHARE PROGRAM
As a result of BRAVO, 21 individuals on the USS Philip and 16 on the USS Bairoko sustained lesions that were classified as beta burns, all of which healed without complications (13: 3-4).
A 6-mile towline connected the fleet tug, USS Tawasa, and the barge from which the nuclear device was suspended.
The ships of Task Force 88, in addition to the USS Norton Sound, were the antisubmarine carrier USS Tarawa, the destroyers USS Bearss and USS Warrington, the destroyer escorts USS Courtney and USS Hammerberg, the fleet oilers USS Neosho and USS Salamonie, and the seaplane tender USS Albemarle (20: 1).

 LST-25
The Coast Guard-manned USS LST-25 was built at the Dravo Corporation's Wilmington, Delaware yard in the spring of 1943.
She was outfitted in the Philadelphia Navy Yard during the next two weeks and received her shakedown in the Chesapeake Bay and there operated as a training ship for new LST crews.
Returning to Norfolk, she embarked 21 US Navy officers and 165 enlisted personnel and on 27 July 1943 she sailed for North African waters, arriving at Oran on 14 August 1943, where she disembarked her passengers and unloaded her cargo.

The ship and crew’s mission is to increase public awareness of the role and history of the LST in World War II, Korea and Viet Nam, as well as to provide a memorial to those that sailed, fought and died on them.

This is a reworking of the 1/525 scale Lindberg Yorktown CV-10 kit, still in progress, to depict Boxer CVS-21 for my friend Frank, who served aboard her in the later '50s, including for the Operation HardTack nuclear tests.
This was a reworking of the 1/350 scale Trumpeter Jeremiah O'Brien kit - incluidng deepened hull and custom, cast resin deck cargo - to depict USS Prince Georges AP-165; for a veteran friend who had sailed her to the invasion of Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands, in WWII.
This was a reworking of the 1/250 scale Lindberg kit, including custom, cast resin deck cargo, into a depiction of LST-131, for my friend Fred Kopplow who served aboard her in WWII.

A handybilly suction pipe was torn loose from it's bracket and indented to a depth of 1 inch by 4 inches long.
Moored port side to LST 213 with LST 42 moored alongside to starboard.
In coming alongside, the anchor of LST 23 indented this ship's side to a depth of two (2) inches at frame nineteen (19), eighteen (18) inches below main deck over an area of three (3) inches wide by twelve (12) inches long.

After the German crew exited the U-boat, Lawrence entered in search of codes or encryption devices but the boat was sinking & he had to swim to the ladder in order to clamber out.
The majority of the survivors, German & Canadian, were subsequently recovered by destroyer USS Lea.
HM ships Grenville, the flotilla leader for the U-class fleet destroyers, Rother & Jed, both River-class frigates, were undamaged in the engagement 1944 - USS Stingray lands men and supplies on Luzon, Philippines to support guerilla operations against the Japanese 1944 - Escort carrier HMS Nabob made port under her own power.
