LST - 331 was laid down on 12 November 1942 at the Philadelphia Navy Yard; launched on 11 February 1943; sponsored by Miss Ruth Stout; and commissioned on 11 March 1943.
LST - 341 was laid down on 21 August 1942 at the Norfolk Navy Yard; launched on 8 November 1942; sponsored by Miss Elizabeth R. Bisset; and commissioned on 28 December 1942.

Was transfered for a short period in an emergency deployment to the USS Bordelon to be on the blockade of Cuba as a radioman, transfered back to the Luce afterwards.
I attended the funeral of President John F. Kennedy while in DC.My last duty was aboard the USS Salish out of Mayport Fla. We were the prime ship that fought the fires aboard the cruise ship Vi king Princess as she burned in the Carribean.
Subsequently, I was assigned to USS Indepen- dence CVA-62 at NOB Norfolk.

 USS LST Ship Memorial - 2005 Voyage
USS LST-325 will lead the column of ships with the USS Constitution on June 11, 2005 at 10:00 AM and return to her berth by 12:30 PM.
In the case of the preceding net frequencies, if the LST is on the air, they'll try to leave their operating frequency with the Net Control Station, where applicable.
After returning to Mobile, Al., LST 325 is expected to be moving northward to a "fresh water" home port on the Ohio River -- Evansville, Indiana -- where many LSTs and P47s were built during WW2, as well as ammunition and other war needs.
