 The History of USS Current
The Pawnee assumed the towing of the Houston from the USS Boston.
USS Randolph was repaired and later rejoined the 5th Fleet, participated in the invasion of Okinawa and launched aircraft to assist in the massive fire bombing raids on the Japanese home islands until the Japanese Surrender.
The USS Skipjack was later delivered to the Mare Island Shipyard for study and then sunk as a target off the Southern California coast on August 11, 1948.

USS NORMANDY (CG-60) diverts a freighter in the N. Red Sea, and assists USS WILLIAM V. PRATT (DDG-44) with diversion of a second freighter in the North Red Sea.
USS SAN JACINTO (CG-56) conducted maritime intercept operations preventing cargo shipments to or from Iraq and served as the antiwarfare commander protecting the Red Sea battle force from preemptive Iraqi or terrorist attacks.
USS SOUTH CAROLINA (CON-37) spearheaded maritime interceptions in the Red Sea, boarding 26 merchant vessels before shifting to anti-air warfare commander for the Mediterranean Sea, protecting and identifying hundreds of coalition aircraft transiting to and from air strikes.

LST 325, veteran of the invasions of Normandy and Italy, was being propelled up the river by tugboats owned by Luhr Brothers, Inc. of Columbia, IL.
LST 325 is to make her first stop on Saturday, June 7, at the Riverboat Landing in Vicksburg, MS.
He also maintained a website for LST 325 which included all of his situation reports, as well as many photographs showing the hard work done in Greece getting the ship seaworthy — that site is a must-see for anyone who hopes to understand what it took to bring this ship home.

Soon there came the crunch of steel on steel as the landing ship crashed into the minesweeper's starboard side, forward, bending in the bulwarks near the bow.

The ships were also instructed not to steam their evaporators in excess of eighty percent and not to repair or disassemble the evaporators without a radiation monitor present.
On August 25, Current departed Bikini Lagoon for Kwajalein Atoll with the target LST 661 in tow and arrived at Kwajalein August 27.

At 21.31 hours on 22 Jun, 1943, U-593 fired a spread of four torpedoes at the convoy Elastic about eight miles northeast of Cape Corbelin and hit the USS LST-333 and USS LST-387 with one torpedo each.
The USS LST-387 was towed to Dellys by the landing craft USS LCT-294 and USS LCT-431.
