The USS Missouri (BB-63) is a United States Navy battleship, notable as both the last battleship to be built by the United States, and as the site of the Japanese surrender at the end of World War II.
The Missouri was deployed during the Korean War in September, 1950 and conducted shore bombardment around Samchok on September 15 before becoming part of the escort for the Valley Forge and conducting further bombardments in October (Chonjin and Tanchon) and December (Hungnam).
The vessel was donated to the Missouri Memorial Association in 1996 and transferred to Hawaii in 1998, where she officially joined the Battleship Row memorial in Pearl Harbor on January 29, 1999.

Missouri joined the fast battleships of TF 58 in bombarding the southeast coast of Okinawa 24 March, an action intended to draw enemy strength from the west coast beaches that would be the actual site of invasion landings.
Missouri rejoined the screen of the carriers as Marine and Army units stormed the shores of Okinawa on the morning of 1 April.

USS Missouri (BB-11), a Maine-class battleship, was the third ship of the United States Navy to be named in honor of the 24th state.
Fleet operations along the east coast and in the Caribbean during the next years were highlighted by her relief to earthquake victims at Kingston, Jamaica, from 17 January to 19 January 1907.
With the "Great White Fleet," Missouri sailed from Hampton Roads on 16 December 1907, passing in review before President of the United States Theodore Roosevelt at the beginning of a world cruise which was to show the world that American naval might could penetrate any waters.

The keel of Kentucky (BB-66), an Iowa-class battleship, was laid at Norfolk Navy Yard, Portsmouth, Virginia, on 6 December 1944.
She was launched on 20 January 1950 to clear the dock for repairs to USS Missouri (BB-63) after her grounding.
In May or June 1956, Kentucky's bow was removed and transported on a large crane barge from Newport News, Virginia, where she had been towed, back to Norfolk Naval Shipyard, to be used in the repair of USS Wisconsin (BB-64), which had been damaged in a collision with USS Eaton (DDE-510) on 6 May 1956.

The Missori lost an SC-1 Seahawk float plane on her first combat patrol, after it was catapulted on February 10, 1945, the aircraft developed engine trouble and crashed into the sea.
Before he could be rescued by the USS Lewis Hancock, the pilot, Lt. Everett N. Frothingham was lost.
It is open to visitors with paid admission thru the USS Missouri Memorial Museum.

 Thomas Charles Hart, Admiral, United States Navy
Later in his career, he served as a Lieutenant and Division Officer aboard the Battleship, USS Missouri (BB-11) and as Commander of the torpedo boat destroyer, USS Lawrence (DD-8).
He was qualified for Command of Submarines and during World War I, he was assigned as a commander of submarine operations in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as Director of Submarines at the Navy Department.

My uncle Albert Darazio at some point was on board the USS Missouri in the early 1900s and I was looking for some information I can't find him listed any where.
If he was aboard in the early 1900’s, then he would have had to have been a crewmember of the earlier battleship, USS Missouri (BB-11), a member of President Theodore Roosevelt’s Great White Fleet.
The USS Missouri now in Hawaii, is BB-63.

Decals for 11 ships are provided (British, French, Canadian and American) and include pilot house windows and checkerboards for the funnel.
