	USS Bowfin - USS Ohio
		USS OHIO (SSBN-726) is the first TRIDENT Class nuclear powered fleet ballistic missile submarine and the fourth United States vessel to bear the name of the seventeenth state of the union.
		The first OHIO, a merchant schooner purchased by the Navy in 1812, was converted to a warship and commissioned in 1813.
		USS OHIO and her Blue Crew departed on the first TRIDENT Submarine Strategic Deterrent Patrol in October 1982.

		On November 11th, 1981, the USS Ohio (SSBN 726) entered commissioned service with the United States Navy as the nation’s first Trident equipped submarine and the world’s most powerful warship.
		The Ohio’s conversion was completed on January 9th, 2006, and is expected to enter fleet service in 2007.
		In addition the Ohio will be able to accommodate 2 DDS or ASDS (Advanced SEAL delivery System) modules on the submarine’s deck, which will be accessible through the new lock out chambers.

		This time, Ratliff brought the Ohio from its homeport at Kitsap Naval Base in Bangor, Wash., to Pearl Harbor last week and was relieved by Capt. Andrew Hale and 160 sailors from his Gold crew.

	GD Completes First Conversion Of Subs For US Navy Transformational Program
		General Dynamics Electric Boat has completed its conversion of USS Ohio (SSGN-726), the first of four Trident submarines to be reconfigured as multimission vessels optimized for covert tactical strike and special operations support.
		Ohio will be joined by three additional Tridents undergoing conversion to SSGNs - USS Michigan at the shipyard here, and USS Florida and USS Georgia at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Virginia.
