Wyoming departed Philadelphia on 6 October and completed the fitting-out process at the New York Navy Yard, Brooklyn, N.Y., before she joined the fleet in Hampton Roads, VA. Reaching the Tidewater area on 30 December 1912, she became the flagship of Rear Admiral Charles J. Badger, Commander, United States Atlantic Fleet, soon thereafter.
Wyoming exercised with the fleet, out of Guantanamo Bay and Guacanayabo Bay, Cuba, between 26 January and 15 March, before setting her course northward for Cape Henry, VA. She then ranged with the fleet from the southern drill grounds, off the Virginia capes, to Tangier Sound, for gunnery drills and practices.
Wyoming remained in the New York Navy Yard from 16 April to 26 June, undergoing repairs; she then operated ofl the New England coast, out of Newport, and off the Virgina capes through the remainder of 1916.

USS Wyoming (BB-32), the lead ship of her class of battleship was the third ship of the United States Navy named Wyoming, although it was only the second named in honor of the 44th state.
Wyoming was laid down on 9 February 1910 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by William Cramp and Sons.
Wyoming’s name was struck from the Naval Vessel Registry on 16 September 1947, and her hulk was sold for scrapping on 30 October 1947.

Wyoming has several MOUNTAINS including the Grand Tetons, Bridge Mountains, Green Mountains, Laramie Mountains, and the Granite Mountains which are the tallest in the state.

The USS Arkansas was in the Atlantic at the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The USS Wyoming was in the Atlantic and participated in the landings at French Morroco, Sicily, Italy and also Normandy.
It's namesake USS Lexington CV-16, after a distinguished career, was stationed in Pensacola, FL for many years and was "the" carrier that the Navy used for training pilots to land on aircraft carriers.

Willís father was killed in 2357 while on an away mission on Bajor--apparently a random target of an unprovoked Cardassian attack during their occupation of that planet.
While on the USS Venture, he was awarded the Bronze Cluster for saving the life of a Chief Petty Officer by performing basic, one-man C.P.R. for 15 minutes (the ship was running level-1 diagnostics and many of the functions of the ship were down, including the turbolifts).
Upon his graduation in the top 1 percent of his class in 2376, he immediately applied for duty on the USS Highlander as a Medic--giving up the opportunity to serve on much big ship.

The Appearance of the Wyoming resulted in the release of the remaining 51 sailors and the return of the Virginius to its owners.
The second USS Wyoming was the United States Monitor Wyoming, pictured to the left, was authorized in 1898, launched in 1900, at the Union Iron Works in San Francisco.
Her name was changed to the USS Cheyenne on 1 January 1909, in order to permit a third vessel to be named the USS Wyoming.

USS Wyoming, a 3225-ton Arkansas class monitor built at San Francisco, California, was commissioned in December 1902.
She served in the eastern Pacific for the next four and a half years, with the high point of her operations taking place in late 1903 and early 1904, when her presence in Panama waters helped secure the independence of that country from Colombia.
Returning to Philadelphia in January 1926, USS Cheyenne was decommissioned at the beginning of June and remained in reserve until January 1937, when she was stricken from the Navy list.

 U.S. World War II Battleships and Battlecruisers
USS Utah (BB 31) and USS Wyoming (BB 32) were both built as battleships but neither were used as such in WWII so they are excluded at this site.
USS Utah was converted to AG16 as a target/training ship in the early 1930's and at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor was mostly disarmed and much of the deck planked over.
She was mistaken for a carrier in the attack and was hit by two torpedoes which resulted in her capsizing and sinking with some of her crew still inside.

The second WYOMING (Monitor No. 10) was laid down on 11 April 1898 at San Francisco, California., by the Union Iron Works, launched on 8 September 1900; sponsored by Miss Hattie Warren, daughter of Senator Francis E. Warren of Wyoming, and commissioned at the Mare Island Navy Yard, Vallejo, California., on 8 December 1902, Commander.
After fitting out at Mare Island, WYOMING ran her trials and exercises in San Pablo and San Francisco Bays and conducted exercises and target practice off the southern California coast through the summer of 1903 before she headed south in the autumn, reaching Acapulco, Mexico, on 31 October.
Later cruising to Acapulco and Panamanian waters, WYOMING also operated off San Salvador and Port Harford, California., before she returned to Mare Island on 30 July to be decommissioned on 29 August 1905.

After the 1930 London treaty The uSs Wyoming was used as a training ship, and some of her side armour and main guns were removed.
With the Us entering World war two after pearl harbor, there were plans to reinstate the Wyoming as a fully working battleship, but this failed and she spent most of the war continuing as a training ship and a AA experimental unit.
