Well: I do not know which 'The King' book Mike is referring to, but the one that I have (huge over-sized, white hard-cover by Jim Piazza) shows on page 59 Elvis' 'Armed Forces of the United States Report of Transfer or Discharge'.
I have purchased The King book from Amazon but can find no trace of the army document. There is a reference on P93, below a photo mentioning that Elvis was 6ft 2ins and 180lbs, which I believe everyone on this site does not agree with.
In fact, 6-3 Walter Matthau, who starred with Elvis in 'King Creole' in 1958 said in an interview in 1985 for an Elvis documentary, "I was amazed at how beautiful this kid was and how talented he was and how kind.

Her body was more mold than plastic, and it looked like she might fall apart anytime now, but Andrea had gotten rejuvenation treatments for herself before, and she planned to do it again--if she could get the money.
In the past she'd used the gaseous verbiage of the King James Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Koran, but these days she modeled her speech patterns on the style of science journals.
Moments later she had several different translations of the Bible open on her desktop, including the King James 1611, the Douay-Rheims, the New English, the Mons Olympus, the New Alpha Centauri Prime, the Joseph Smith, and the weirdly poetic Friarhesse Low Synod version used by the Stewardship.
