Access to Mussende from Kuanza Sul Province is restricted due to the broken bridge over the Longa River near Cariango commune and the poor condition of the alternative route via Calulo, limiting support to approximately 11,000 persons in the nearby gathering area of Cambale and returnees near Mussende town.

Huambo Province: Preliminary results of a recent vulnerability assessment mission (VAM) indicate that approximately 325,000 people in the province are in a high state of food insecurity and as many as 110,000 of them remain inaccessible due to suspected mine infestation, collapsed bridges and poor road conditions.
Kuando Kubango Province: All three gathering areas in the province are empty after the last people in Matungo GA were moved on 23 May. Five hundred people remained in the Menongue transit centre, down from a population of 5,000 at the end of April.

In Bié Province, an assessment conducted in mid April in Chitembo indicated that mortality levels are high, with crude and under five mortality rates recorded at 5.1 deaths per 10,000 persons per day and 5.5 deaths per 10,000 children per day, respectively.
In Lunda Sul Province, IDPs arriving in Saurimo report that at least four persons are dying per day in Xassengue and Cucumbi communes in Cacolo Municipality, due to food insecurity and lack of assistance to soldiers and families moving to quartering areas.

Angola's health ministry has said that an outbreak of the Ebola-like Marburg virus that has claimed 244 lives was now confined to the province of Uige as no new cases had been detected outside of the northern region.
Out of a total 266 cases of the Ebola-like bug, 244 people have died with the vast bulk of those from the northern province of Uige where 228 patients have succumbed to the virus in the worst outbreak ever of the disease.
A team of 24 Angolan and foreign health experts traveled to Uige on Thursday to reinforce the team that is reaching out to local residents to explain the threat posed by the bug.

In the May 25 report these was one new case and one new fatality in the city of Uige on May 24 bringing the total number of cases to 350 with 316 deaths.

In Uige province, some population arriving in the capital over the weekend reported that UNITA attacked and occupied Ambuila on 27 or 28 May. Road insecurity continues to be a hindrance but humanitarian assistance activities continue.
At the time of conclusion of the current report, in the same province, a mission organised by UCAH and with the presence of humanitarian partners was carried out to Dombe Grande to assess the availability of agriculture land for IDPs.
