Timmermann on Build-Up to Hi-Performance in Bench Press: The build-up, or basic, bench press program was followed until the athlete stopped improving in the bench press.
Ulf followed this particular bench program from the ages of 17-22, and attained a 210k flat bench press, a World Championship silver medal and 21m in shot put before switching to the hi-performance bench press program.
Ulf makes note that the FD Glide has a lesser result than the Block Glides or Lock Left Glides because of the active reverses that are utilized in these latter styles.

Barnes was banned from competing for 27 months after testing positive for the anabolic steroid methyltestosterone at a competition in Malmö, Sweden on August 7 that same year.
