	Ultima - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Ultima tells the story of a hero who would be summoned by the ruler of a fantasy world, known first as Sosaria, later as Britannia, whenever troubles would arise.
		Ultima I-V were originally developed on and released for the Apple II family of computers.
		Ultima is also a magic spell used in the "Final Fantasy" games, though in this case it is merely an abbreviation of the word "ultimate" and not a reference to the Ultima game series.

		She told me that she was playing a game called Ultima III and she told me a little bit about the background of the game and what was going on in the game at the time.
		Since then I have managed to play parts of Ultima IV and Ultima V and I have completed Ultima VI: the False Prophet which is my favorite of all the current Ultima games that I have played (I am getting a new computer soon to play Ultima IX).
		Those who first started playing Ultima IV struggled at the beginning because the old habits would make it impossible to succeed unless the player truly tried to become the Avatar which is the embodiment of the 8 virtues of the game.

		Since Origin basically stopped working on the Ultima series, Ultima Dragons are working to upgrade all old Ultimas to more modern graphics, music etc. The Exodus project is an update for Ultima II which includes new graphics and new keyboard features (like: save, restore, quit etc).

		In late September '97, I was going through my usual dragonly things; checking these pages, browsing the Ring Of Dragons and checking the newsgroup when I saw a couple of posters pointing newbies wishing to find Ultima IV in the direction of a gaming site by the name of Kickass Games.
		I would have expected them to send a Cease and Desist to the owners of Kickass (I believe that they had indeed been in contact with the site owner) but what I got was right out of left field.
