 "Ultimate Force" (2002)
I loved 'Ultimate Force' - it gave us action, suspense and good story lines.
The main characters were developed enough without getting in the way of the action; which really was what I wanted to watch.
I have seen this movie and would like to comment on it

 Movie
Hold on tight for a suspense-filled action-thriller the San Francisco Chronicle calls “the season's most exhilarating entertainment!” Oscar winner Meryl Streep gives a powerhouse performance as Gail, a mother who organises a white water rafting trip to celebrate her son's birthday and salvage her shaky marriage.
Also starring Kevin Bacon and David Strathairn, this thrilling movie is a masterpiece of action, suspense and unforgettable storytelling from the director of The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.
A former river guide, Gail's no longer the risk-taker she was in her youth, but her skills and courage are put to the ultimate test when an encounter with three mysterious strangers threatens to turn a family vacation into a living hell.

Amazon.com: Outbreak (1995 Film): Music: James Newton Howard
Outbreak, being a drama/suspense/action oriented film was easy on the action cues, and heavier on the somber notes of death, sadness and ultimate rejuvenation of hope etc. etc.
The action cues that follow these events are well worth a listen and completely worth paying for the publically released CD (not to mention the privilege of owning fourteen seconds {5:52-6:06} of score contained within "They're Coming" which has appeared in countless movie trailers).
Other notables are "Motaba River Valley" and "Finding the Ship", which further illustrate Howard's ability to keep the pace with his short, but rousing, themes.

I just saw the first episode of Firefly... - The CHUD.COM Message Boards
In the meantime, these 14 episodes (and enjoyable bonus features) offer everything you'd expect from the creator of Buffy: action, drama, humor, hints of romance, suspense, fine acting, film-quality direction, dazzling special effects, and ample proof that Fox made a glaring mistake in canceling the series.
Fortunately, Whedon was developing a Firefly movie as this DVD set was being released in January 2004, so the ultimate fate of Serenity's crew remains to be seen.
In the episode "Heart of Gold" the hand held laser is shown and portrayed very realistically (unlike a Star Wars laser, in which you can "see" it's motion, a real laser will appear "on" then "off").

International intrigue and suspense meet the hi-tech gadgetry and spectacle that can only be found in Marvel Comics as the Black Widow tries to find her place in a world without borders.
The Black Widow, an early supporting character in the Marvel Comics universe, is also known by her other identity: Natasha Romanova, a Russian spy who made her debut in "The Invincible Iron Man." She also was part of the superteams assembled in "The Champions" and "The Avengers" comics series.
In the movie version, at birth the Black Widow is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative.

 Sleeping Giant Comics
Much like Tolkien’s “Ring of Power,” the Cosmic Cube had the ability to “convert thought waves—into material action.” The evil Red Skull was the first to wield the Cube—having stolen it from the AIM engineers who created it—and he envisioned the world would soon bow to his every command.
MODOK was, if my weathered memory is still accurate, introduced by Stan Lee and the late, great Jack Kirby—the team that was responsible for the vast majority of Cap’s adventures published in Tales of Suspense.
THE ULTIMATE TALE OF THE COSMIC CUBE!” Having just acquired this comic (and several others, natch!) at the recently held Pasadena convention, I decided to assess whether the story stands up to its hard-sell cover hype.

 13-01.txt
I've enjoyed all of the Berserker stories and found Berserker Throne to be a well-written tale of action, suspense, human conflict and the continuing struggle against the implacable berserkers.
The fortress is also the locale of an earlier Berserker story, "Some Events at the Templar Radiant," which first appeared in the May-Aug 1979 issue of Destinies magazine and was reprinted a month later in The Ultimate Enemy, an Ace paperback collection of Berserker stories.
While doing so he discovers in the berserker's memory banks a code sequence that he believes might allow him to control not only that particular berserker but all berserkers, giving humanity a way of putting an end to the berserker menace for all time.

 Patrice Leconte @ Filmbug UK
Celebrated French film director Patrice Leconte weaves a love story from the cloth of a suspense thriller for his 20th feature film, perhaps his ultimate statement on the mysteries and intrigue of male-female relationships.
In 1997, Leconte directed Half A Chance, an action-comedy featuring the comeback of French icons Alain Delon and Jean-Paul Belmondo.
Leconte is particularly intrigued by the role of music in motion pictures - as evidenced by the way he weaves the scores for his films into the storytelling -- and contributed a preface to Jean-Pierre Eugene's book La Musique dans les films d'Alfred Hitchcock.

 dOc DVD Review: Sahara (1943)
However, as the tale unfolds, the suspense of their encounter with a superior German force, the interrelations of the characters of different nations and the action of the battle over an oasis they find all combine for a stunning example of a film depicting courage under fire, as well as war's ironies and ultimate futility.
The extra trailers for The Caine Mutiny, Bridge on the River Kwai and The Guns of Navarone seem superfluous and are in bad shape, but perhaps someone who was viewing Sahara had not thought of these other Columbia war films.
Sahara was made at a time when the Soviets were our allies; it seems unlikely that a film could be made in Hollywood ten years later that would list a Soviet photoplay in the credits.

Scholastic Books: From the Editor's Desk: David Levithan
All the classic Horowitz elements are here: the propulsive action; the incredibly sympathetic kid characters; the battle between good and a shape-shifting evil; the heart-pounding suspense.
But Horowitz weaves in horror, legend, and myth this time around, to create a thrill ride of storytelling.
With the Alex Rider series, he's built a wide and loyal following.
