	Ultra Magnus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Ultra Magnus (Ultramag in France, Convoy in Italy) is the name of several fictional and visually cognate characters from the various Transformers Universes.
		Ultra Magnus's toy consists of a smaller robot, identical to Optimus Prime but with a mostly white colouration, which acts as the cab of the car carrier and combines with the trailer to form the familiar Ultra Magnus as depicted in the cartoon and comics.
		Magnus was among the small group of Transformers who travelled to the sorcerous other-dimensional realm of Menonia, and later, along with Springer, Rodimus Prime and Arcee, found his mind transferred into human-mimicking "synthoid" bodies by the human crimelord Victor Drath.

		The packaging is similar to the original Japanese Ultra Magnus with the addition of a Gold Sticker on the widow identifying the 15th Anniversary of Transformers in Japan.
		I noticed in a photo of the original Ultra Magnus that the small and large fists were attached to trees versus separated and placed in a baggy with the rest of the attachments.

		After months and months of waiting, I finally found R.i.D. Ultra Magnus- I never forgot the promise I made to you, the reader, when I did my review for the Optimus Prime of the same line, and when my specialty collector store got this guy in, it wasn’t even a second thought.
		Lastly, one really cool thing about this Magnus is that he comes with a dual missile launcher that can be placed in a number of positions, both in Alternate and Robot modes.
		The only thing I am not totally crazy about is the size/look of his head- the head is way too small for the body, and personally, I will always favor the G1 look of the head (specifically the cartoon) that displayed some two really distinctive helmet points on either side of the head.

		The package hasn't changed from the re-issued Ultra Magnus but there are a couple of stickers applied to the box which is different.
		It gist of the story states that Convoy (Optimus Prime), prior to his death, passed the Matrix down to Ultra Magnus who becomes the new leader of Cybertron.

		This is supposed to be G1 redone after all and Prime and Magnus had different bots at least.
		It's the classic line where the figures are very heavily based on G1, so if there's going to be a Magnus he should be like G1 was: white Prime with trailer which becomes his armor.
		A magnus would either be a white repaint or a new mold.

		For me, I always got used to Ultra Magnus as a different character with his own full body (like in the cartoon) even though I had the toy..and really used the white cab as Optimus Prime since I didn't have one at the time.
		Ultra Magnus is a good example of the latter.
		Hence why I loved the fact that they finally showed Ultra Magnus without his armor, showing conclusively that yes, it is armor as it should be.
