Storacall UltraVox Main Page - Call Processing Solution
The modular basis of the UltraVox software and hardware mean that whether there are 2 or 200 people involved in taking telephone calls, the system can be configured to cope and to grow as situations change.
Software modules may be added when required, for example the Equate ACD can be added to a QueueCall queue management system when the volume of calls or agent management become issues.
Where the UltraVox is configured to process incoming calls, management feedback is essential to ensure that the Call Centre or business is performing with maximum efficiency.

When I saw Ultravox in Concert back 1980 they were canny enough to split their set pretty much in 1/2.
Ultravox effectively staked a place as a rock band that utilised electronic elements and not the other way around and as a result, had a much grander and heavier sound than their feeble Casio derived rivals.
I like Ultravox in spite of what some fans appreciate Ethat syrupy, over-dramatic quality, and what I think prevented them from becoming bigger than they were, which was a shame because I felt they were underrated and under-played on the radio.

Interview with Midge Ure in Music Technology
Ultravox had a bit of an edge to it and I think that the Quartet album was a very sort of chic record, designer music, you know.
The next Ultravox album, Lament, was recorded mostly in Midge Ure's own home studio and marked a retrenching and simplification of the recording process in reaction to the over-production of Quartet.
Ultravox brought an emotional maturity and complexity to their music that makes Vienna, Rage in Eden and Lament stand as the cutting edge of synth-pop.

Public Advisory: 10.25.06 // iDefense Labs
Ultravox is a streaming media technology developed by AOL for delivering and publishing streaming media such as music files.
Remote exploitation of a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the Ultravox protocol handler of AOL Corp.'s Nullsoft Winamp media player could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the currently logged in user.
Due to an error in the handling of the 'ultravox-max-msg' header, it is possible for a malicious server to cause the Winamp client to allocate a very small amount of space and then try fill it with a large amount of server supplied date, potentially overwriting values which will lead to code execution.

Then, Frankel and his cohorts caused a stir when they developed software called AIMazing, which replaced banner advertisements on AOL Instant Messenger into wiggling sound waves accompanied by music.

AOL debuts its own streaming tech | Tech News on ZDNet
The Ultravox launch could have repercussions beyond the company, particularly for partner RealNetworks, which in the past was the sole provider of streaming technology used on AOL's radio service.
Ultravox was originally developed by a pool of AOL engineers that included some founding members of Nullsoft, the media software company acquired by AOL in 1999.
Nullsoft engineers created the popular MP3 playback software Winamp, and have developed other cutting-edge software such as "Wasabi," which can be programmed and can run on multiple operating systems such as Windows and Linux.

I love Ultravox and I usually give their albums 5 stars, but this being the last with Midge Ure is not as good as their previous albums with him as their main singer.
This album, the final Ultravox release to feature singer/guitarist Midge Ure, is widely seen as a letdown to most of their fans and even the band themselves.
In the early 80's, Ultravox' sound was a unique hybrid of electronic, rock and European classical styles.

AOL to ditch Real Networks in Netscape Radio?
This change leads me to believe this is more than a simple software upgrade: AOL seems to be planning to ditch Real Networks' servers from their free "Netscape Radio" service.
It's simple: when AOL streams audio using "ultravox" (like they currently do with "Radio@AOL"), they have to pay no server licence to anybody ("ultravox" was developed in-house).
As a techie, I hope the folks at Nullsoft to do things in the right way, specially if AOL is serious about releasing a Netscape update based on Mozilla 1.7, and compile a Netscape/Mozilla style "plug-in" version of their current ultravox Active-X component, and bundle it with the browser.
