		Ulysses 31 (宇宙伝説ユリシーズ31) is a Japanese-French anime series (1981) which updates the Greek and Roman mythology of Odysseus to the thirty-first century.
		Zeus sentences Ulysses to travel the universe with his crew frozen until he finds the Kingdom of Hades, at which point his crew will be revived and he will be able to return to Earth.
		Ulysses is saved from a Trident attack by Chronus, the god of time, who wants to use him as leverage to be allowed to reenter the home of the gods.

		Ulysses 31 was one of those brilliant cartoons shown on TV in the early 80s.
		Ulysses is clearly based on Odysseus, a character in The Iliad and The Odyssey, both written by ancient Greek poet Homer.

		Another gripe: although "Ulysses 31" isn't in a quasi-serialized format like many space-opera anime shows (all eppies here are stand-alone adventures), I would have preferred they put the first four episodes on this platter instead of a few shows taken from various places in the series in order to make a "theme" disc.
		Bottom line: save up yer bucks and wait for `Ulysses 31' to come out on in a full-series DVD box set in the original French dialogue with English subtitles, and let this particular platter be.

		This was produced before the late 80s toy boom, and as such I don't think any toys were available for Ulysses 31.
