Uncertain, Texas is an incorporated community located on the shores of the mystic Caddo Lake in Harrison County, seventeen miles northeast of Marshall, Texas.
This area was once known as Uncertain Landing, according to one local source, because of the difficulty steamboats had in anchoring their vessels there.
It is rumored that Uncertain, Texas has the oldest existing marina in the state of Texas at the Johnson's Ranch Marina.

  Caddo Lake - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Caddo Lake is a 25,400 acre (103 km²) lake and wetland located on the border between Texas and Louisiana, in northern Harrison County and southern Marion County in Texas and western Caddo Parish in Louisiana.
It is an Internationally protected wet land under the RAMSAR treaty and is the largest natural fresh water lake in Texas, and the largest Cypress forest in the world.
Texas tried to preserve parts of Caddo in 1934 by establishing a State Park, constructed by the WPA.

Uncertain, also known as Uncertain Landing, is an incorporated community on the shores of Caddo Lake seventeen miles northeast of Marshall in northeastern Harrison County.
The population of Uncertain was estimated at 189 in 1988, and the town limits were irregularly shaped, as they were designed to include most of the restaurants and fishing camps along that part of the Caddo Lake shoreline.
In 1990 the population of Uncertain was 194.
