Underwoodisaurus milii is often referred to as Nephrurus milii and one of the reasons is that the tail is also very "Knob-like".
Underwoodisaurus milii should be kept in terrariums which should replicate their natural environment.
Like most geckos, Underwoodisaurus milii lays a clutch of two eggs and are developed regularly, usually at 3 week intervals.

Underwoodisaurus milii grows to a size of 14-15cm and a weight of 15-22 gram's.
The breeding of Underwoodisaurus milii is not difficult.
Once the female U.milii is mature(7-14months) She can be introduced to the male, who should also be adult size or close to it.

Two of the species are by some authorities considered a seperate genus Underwoodisaurus, this genus is for this time not considered seperate based on the study by Bauer, 1990 untill further written studies shows otherwise.
More species should be in the progress of describtion by australian scientists.

In 2003 I bought my first gecko through a member (and now good friend) of the Herpetological Society of Queensland.
It was a hatchling Underwoodisaurus Milii (pictured left).
Three years later, I still have the same gecko, who has bred successfully with its female partner, producing a number of hatchlings.

This gecko was photographed in the Mount Moffat section of Carnarvon National Park, Qld, during a fauna survey.
The strongly banded fl and white tail is raised and undulated when the gecko is threatened, perhaps to draw attention away from the head.

Hmm......that reminds me, does anyone have a copy of the most recent revision of the Nephrurus genus?
I'm finally getting around to changing the genus of all of my Underwoodisaurus milii pics to Nephrurus milii.
How long can I count on this change?
