 UNION COUNTY, OHIO - 1883 HISTORY - CHAPTER II - UNION TOWNSHIP
Presbyterian Church, Milford Center.-The first religious organization in what is now Union Township, was formed by the Presbyterians, one and one-half miles east of the present village of Milford Center, either late in 1807 or very early in 1808.
Gideon Hawley was, perhaps, the first physician in Union County; he married Rebecca Townsend, and subsequently moved West, where he died, and his widow returned to her friends in Canada: They had two sons; the youngest was named Micajah; both removed to the West.

Two years later, he removed to Greene County, from which, after two more years had passed, he came to the territory now embraced in Union County, and settled (in 1809) in what is now Union Township in the county last named.

 Clinton County, Wilmington, Ohio History
He came to Ohio in 1804, locating in what is now Union Township, of Clinton County, where he was engaged in agriculture for many years, owning at one time nearly 400 acres of land.
He removed to Ohio in 1796, locating first at Columbia, and in 1797 proceeded to Warren County, north of Lebanon, where he resided until his death, December 21, 1846.
Our subject was reared in Clermont County, and April 13, 1861, enlisted in Company A, Twelfth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry, was discharged, and re-enlisted June 3, of the same year, in Company K, Tenth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry, in which he served as Wagon Master the greater part of his service.

In its first session, on 24 April, the County Court named "supervisors" for the various settlements, designating Erastus Bingham supervisor for "Ogden Settlement North of Ogden River." In the first municipal election, October 1852, Lorin Farr emerged as mayor of Ogden; Erastus Bingham, as one of the four aldermen.
He erected the first grist and saw mills in Weber county; was a member first territorial legislature from Weber county, and represented Box Elder county from the time of the organization of the territory until 1887.
Bingham served for many years as secretary of the Weggeland Ditch Company, was a director of the Bingham County Livestock Company, and a charter member of the Bingham County Sheriff's Posse.

Turtlecreek Township was established by the Warren County Commissioners on August 15, 1804, from parts of Deerfield and Clearcreek Townships.
It is bounded on the east by the Little Miami River (across the Little Miami is Washington Township), on the north by Wayne, Clearcreek, and Franklin Townships; on the east by the Butler County townships of Lemon and Liberty ; and on the south by Deerfield and Union Townships.
The Warren County Airport is located in Turtlecreek Township on Greentree Road between Lebanon and Greentree Corners.

According to court records associated with the settlement of Richard's estate, Jonah was a resident of Warren County on 9 January 1868, when his brother, Isaac Read and his wife Mary Allen Read of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania signed off on their share of the estate in favor of Isaac's brothers and sisters.
She was born 29 April 1844 in Columbia County, Pennsylvania and died 25 May 1864 in Warren County, New Jersey.
In return, Isaac received title to Richard's land in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania (Warren County Land Records, hereinafter WCLR, Deed Book 70, page 629).
