On June 13-14, messengers (delegates) to the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting in Orlando, FL, voted on a proposed statement of belief declaring that women should no longer be allowed to serve as pastors and eliminating the belief in the "priesthood of all believers" in favor or the inerrancy of the Bible.
On May 11, two United Methodist bishops were among a group of 31 people arrested in Cleveland, OH, during a protest that temporarily halted proceedings at the General Conference of the United Methodist Church.
In 1998, the Southern Baptists declared that a wife should "submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband." That was the last straw for about dozen congregations that quit the denomination.

The earliest of the irregular Baptist bodies—and the term “ irregular” is used simply as a distinguishing epithet, with no idea of disparagement—are various organizations that differ somewhat among themselves, but agree in holding an Arminian theology.
For the most part this name was gradually dropped, and the United Baptists became simply Baptists and are reckoned with the “Regulars.” But in a number of States (Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee) there are still churches and Associations that retain the name United and hold aloof from all other organizations.
The Seventh-day Baptists are strongest in New York, one-fourth of the churches and one-third of the members being found in that State.
