 | | The United Nations Security Council first passed resolution 941 (1994), which described “ethnic cleansing” as a clear violation of international humanitarian law, demanded it be put to an end, condemned the practice as unacceptable and reaffirmed that those who committed these acts will be held individually responsible for such acts. |
