	UNITED cRACKING fORCE - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		A prolific group, uCF released many cracks from the mid-to-late 1990s continuing until the present day, ranging from software titles such as the Opera Web Browser to Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge to Adobe's Image Ready to Citrix MetaFrame (a more complete list can be found here).
		Other cracking groups to claim this credit are Phrozen Crew, C0RE, and TNO – although the ones with the most plausible counter claim are Phrozen Crew (which was created around the same time as uCF).
		These cracks in particular caused widespread panic among their respective creators whose entire income was based on marketing these protection systems, and led to their eventual demise.

		The Register has been forwarded the crack, which is convincingly large and complicated-looking, but we haven't yet verified whether or not it works.

	About myself
		This took place in 1995 when their first crack was made - pc_cmnu5.zip.
		The Phrozen Crew and UCF were and still are on good terms as many people were in both groups.
		They, like most other cracking organizations, have stated that they simply "promote free software" through cracks, rather than deliberately trying to hack security features on software.

		Not told anyone that they cracked the algorithm, uploaded a counter-virus / virus checker to the next day's website, and voila.
		who knows if they even really got into the guts and cracked this virus, all they would have had to do is infect a machine, set the router that its on to log all outbound requests, and set up a simple program to change the time and date on the computer at much faster intervals.
		nothing against f-secure, because i respect them as security experts, but cracking a program is really really hard, and that's if its not passed through an encryption scheme.
