The United Daily News (Chinese: 聯合報; pinyin: lián hé bào) is a newspaper published in Taiwan in Traditional Chinese.
UDN was and to some extent still is a place to publish literature in the Lianhe Fukan literary supplement.
In terms of editorial style and standards, UDN is the most literary of Taiwan's newspapers; the Chinese used is baihua vernacular but heavily incorporating usages from classical wenyan Chinese.

 Taiwan Trip Boosts Hopes at Chinese Daily News
Chinese Daily News reporter Lynne Wang, part of the three-member delegation, was able to meet with the labor relations manager for the United Daily News, the Taiwan-based company that owns the L.A. daily and other Chinese-language newspapers.
Wang was accompanied by two members of the United Daily News union, two from the Taiwan Confederation of Trade Unions — an umbrella organization like the AFL-CIO — and a representative of the National Federation of Mass Media Trade Unions, which has 15 affiliates in Taiwan.
What that means for Chinese Daily News workers isn’t clear yet, but Wang said she will continue to follow up with the parent company.

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) yesterday accused the United Daily News (UDN) of tarnishing the reputation of President Chen Shui-bian and his administration by publishing what it said were irresponsible and incorrect stories.
Wu said the intention of the United Daily News to sway the election has damaged the credibility of the media, and the DPP hopes the letter will prompt the newspaper to improve.
He cited an editorial in the United Daily News on its 47th anniversary that upheld "anti-communism, democracy, unification and progress" as its principles, but said the newspaper has violated its own principles and ethos.

By a margin of 70 percent, delegates approved United Methodism becoming the sixth denomination to adopt the covenanting proposal of the Consultation on Church Union.
The action also creates new designations for church membership, "baptized members" and "professing members." Only professing members will be counted for determining financial apportionments and for most statistical purposes.
The United Methodist Men's organization currently is a unit of the General Board of Discipleship in Nashville, Tenn. Backers of the move said creation of the new commission would not require additional funding since funds currently for men's work in the Discipleship budget will be transferred to the new agency.

Justice Minister Cemil Çiçek said on Tuesday that some were trying to portray the government and the military as being on opposing sides in terms of their approaches towards combating terrorism, saying that everybody was united against terrorism.
Speaking to NTV Ankara bureau chief Murat Aygün, Çiçek said terrorism was and would always be a priority, adding that the state, military and government are determined to stamp out terrorism and dismissing claims of a difference of opinion between various state organs.

For New Yorkers who see the film, that may be the toughest part to watch, because our own knowledge of the inevitable isn't shared by the authorities depicted onscreen.

In 1971 The United Methodist Church changed the name of the observance to World Communion Sunday and redistributed the offering to support the Crusade Scholarship Program (begun in 1944), the Ethnic Minority Scholarship Program and the Division of Chaplains and Related Ministries.
In 1980 Chaplains and Related Ministries was moved to World Service funding, but the World Communion Sunday offering continued to assist racial- and ethnic-minority persons pursuing various avenues of ministry.
