Geneva, 21 November 2002: The European Broadcasting Union and its Eurovision satellite network, is welcoming a new generation of European talent, with the first ever "Eurovision Song Contest for Children".
The concept for the "Eurovision Song Contest for Children" proved so popular with the Members that the EBU had to hold a draw to decide which countries could take part in the two-hour show.
A record 26 countries will compete in the 48th Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Riga, the Latvian capital, on 24 May 2003.
