In an Associated Press interview, the Pennsylvania Republican said he hoped the visit, which he finalized in a meeting with Iran's ambassador to the United Nations on Wednesday, would lead to trips to Tehran by members of Congress and then by Bush administration officials.
He said Ney, who taught English in Iran in 1978, was arranging for congressional staff to go to Tehran as a prelude to a visit by members of Congress.
