We have people with a passion for counter-recruitment, nuclear disarmament, a department of peace, a peace tax fund, international cooperation, stopping torture, banning landmines, bringing home the national guard, peace education, political action, peace intervention, social justice, and a host of other legitimate issues.
This is why I applaud the United for Peace and Justice coalition’s move toward a more limited focus in their September 24-26, 2005 mobilization -- ending the war in Iraq and bringing the troops home.
I urge every peace group in the land to participate in the United for Peace and Justice coalition.
