		My friend was a huge 311 fan and i wasn't really into them yet and he told me to buy this cd so i went to a used record store looking for from chaos but they didn't have it so i bought this.
		While 311 are clearly in the process of finding their muse on "Music", their original blend of reggae, alternative, and rap provide for a thoroughly enjoyable, if lyrically shaky, first album.
		This album took a while to grow on me, so it might not be the best place to start, but over time I've come to listen to this album quite a lot.

		I've seen 311 too many times live to really call this show the best I've ever seen them, and while it was a great, energetic show, the venue and lack of true fans there detracted greatly from the experience.

		I cant wait for the new album to drop on July 26th that shit is gonna be tight from the way Nick describes it.
		First heard them when the blue album came out (I was in 7th grade and 12 years old), but I went and bought it, as well as caught myself up with the older CDs as well.

		311 didn't get their permanent line-up until 1991, but a lot of the members were in other bands.
		In 1991, 311 got their permanent lineup with Tim Mahoney on lead guitar, SA Martinez on vocals and the turntables, Nick Hexum on lead vocals and guitar, Chad Sexton on drums, and P-Nut on the bass.
		With a new album's worth of songs in their arsenal, 311 will hit the road this Fall for a special grassroots club tour, which will be followed by a U.S. tour of larger venues throughout the year 2000.

		I'd say any fan of 311 should have this album even if you are a late bloomer only knowing the softer slower new stuff.
		What the "Blue Album" accomplishes is taking the style of their first two releases, "Grassroots" and "Music" and makes it a little easier on the ears.
		more polished then their first album but not yet overproduced, it is an absolute necessity for any 311 fan or late blooming rock fan searching desperately for some decent rock...
