Universalism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Universalism is also used as a synonym for moral universalism, as a compromise between moral relativism and moral absolutism.
Universalism can also mean the wish for a closer union between all people of the world (the emergence of world citizens) and/or the aim of creating common global institutions (democratic globalization).
That said, Universalists have bestowed upon Unitarian Universalism a global understanding of what constitutes God's family, an undiminished belief in the goodness of the life, and a commitment to seeking reconciliation and restorative justice in their personal relationships and in the public realm.

The Recognition of Universal Reconciliation - Part 3
Belief in Universal Reconciliation was widespread in the early centuries of the Christian church.
To sum up their views of universal reconciliation, Gregory of Nyssa held strongly to the view, Gregory of Nazianzus was favorable to the concept, but noncommittal, and Basil of Caesarea was opposed to the view, but not antagonistic to it (Kelly, Early Christian Doctrines, p.483).
These passages from Augustine indicate that the belief in universal reconciliation was widespread in the Latin African churches of the early 5th century as well as the eastern Greek churches of Alexandria, Palestine, Asia Minor and Antioch.

Coordinated Universal Time or UTC, also sometimes referred to as "Zulu time" or Z, is an atomic realization of Universal Time (UT) or Greenwich Mean Time, the astronomical basis for civil time.
Time zones around the world are expressed as positive and negative offsets from UT. UTC differs by an integral number of seconds from International Atomic Time (TAI), as measured by atomic clocks and a fractional number of seconds from UT.
International standard UTC time can only be determined to the highest precision after the fact, as atomic time is determined by the reconciliation of the observed differences between an ensemble of atomic clocks maintained by a number of national time bureaus.

Pastor Russell Writes Concerning the Universal Reconciliation (with a reply by Adolph E. Knoch)
The few whose counsel was considered in formulating the reply have insisted that it is due to the truth and to the Lord's people that the objections of brother Russell should be given public consideration, on account of his prominent place in the religious world, especially on such an important point as the universal reconciliation.
He has acknowledged the receipt of the reply in a most courteous letter, suggesting that no rejoinder is necessary as he has dealt with all the Scriptures involved in his published works.
We have carefully considered what you have to say on this subject and trust that we can count on your careful reconsideration of the universal reconciliation because, almost without exception, your objections are based on a misunderstanding of what that doctrine really teaches.

In any case, the attempt to define the universal reconciliation of verse 20 in terms of "cosmic peace" while still allowing for everlasting suffering for a large portion of conscious creation does no justice to this passage.

As the original sin that the first Adam introduced is universal, so the redemption introduced by the second Adam is likewise universal, according to the parallel used by Paul in Rom.
Whichever of the two possibilities (universal salvation vs. eternal damnation) will in fact be true, the other must be inconsistent with His character, for logically both cannot be consistent with His character simultaneously since they are opposites.
The opposite of universal salvation, however, is not the doctrine that God damns people, for I believe in hell just as surely as you do, only I believe hell is a purifying process and that all damnation will eventually lead to salvation.

The doctrine of a universal world reconciliation to Christ is plainly revealed in the Bible.
There are many sections of Scripture which are devoted solely to this matter, and if people would simply believe what they read (instead of inserting into the text their own theological conceptions and their desire to perpetuate traditionalism), there would hardly appear a doubt about the fact of the biblical teaching.

 On Universal Reconciliation
This site is an introduction to the topic of Universal Reconciliation (also known as Universal Salvation, the doctrine of Apocatastasis (or Apokatastasis), and Christian Universalism, among other names), the Christian doctrine that all people will eventually be (or already have been) reconciled or saved by Christ.
Keep in mind as you read that Christian Universalism is not a denomination but rather a soteriological model just as Calvinism and Arminianism are, and that not all Christian Universalists agree on every aspect of it so if you see different articles seeming to contradict each other on certain details, this is why.
While I see Universal Reconciliation as more of a "milk" teaching than a "meat" teaching (see Hebrews 5:11-6:3), many people have not yet come to an understanding of it which is why I have created this site.
