Authority in the Spirit: Developing a Doctrine of the Liberal Church - Christopher L. Walton
The minister is recognizably Unitarian Universalist by virtue of her fellowship with Unitarian Universalist ministers and her public role as the celebrant of Unitarian Universalist values in the worship of the congregation.
Some Unitarian Universalists view the relationship of minister to congregation as a business relationship in which the minister is the employee of the congregation; I have even heard the word "hireling" used to describe a minister.

An Overview of Islam - Interfaith Articles - IFCO - InterFaith Cultural Organization - Athens Georgia
The acceptance of Islam as a religion by the non-Arab peoples under the rule of the caliphs was a slow, uneven, and never-completed process, motivated by many things, some of which are not properly understood.
This claim is sometimes supported by reference to the importance of the doctrine of jihad (holy war) in traditional Islam and the importance of the Arab conquests in the earliest stages of the emergence of Islam.
The Sunni form of the religion is dominant in most countries apart from Iran, but there are large Shiite populations in Iraq and Lebanon, in Bahrain and eastern Saudi Arabia, and, to a lesser extent, in Central and South Asia.

 Zoroastrianism - The Mind-N-Magick Paganpedia
Zoroastrian areas once stretched from Anatolia as the religion of the Mede in the western part of the Iranian plateau to the Persian Gulf, and its followers once numbered in the millions.
Many traits of this ancient Iranian religion of Aryan origin, which has strong similarities before its reformation to the Hinduism of Northern India and the Viking or Norse religion in Northern Europe, are present in modern Persians, Azerbaijanis, Kurds, and Eurasian peoples.
The origin of the religion is ascribed to the prophet Zarathushtra, who is commonly known in the Western world as Zoroaster, the Greek version of his name.

Yet Another Unitarian Universalist » Tech and religion
The Rev. Jan Edmiston, pastor of Fairlington Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, said … the blogging phenomenon is part of a larger shift in the way religion is practiced — although she is unsure what form that change might take.
Just as Edmiston calls her practice “monastic,” I think this is less a story of technology changing the way we do things, than it is a story of people finding and creating new ways to pursue spiritual growth and exploration.
All of which raises the issue about how religion is being changed by the communication revolution.
