STORRS, Conn. -- A second student housing complex at the University of Connecticut has been placed under a 24-hour fire watch until the school fixes fire code violations.
University of Connecticut in Storrs topped the list with 1,817 international students, followed by Yale with 1,765 students and University of Bridgeport with 1,208 international participants.
The project, which include work at the main Storrs campus and five regional campuses, is one of the largest infrastructure improvement programs at any university in the country, state officials have said.

For the past five years researchers at the University of Virginia have been collecting data on young women enrolled in a program which allows them to earn their high school and college diplomas within four to six years.
The Learning Outcomes Study at the University of Virginia was a two-year investigation of over 1,000 elementary school children in grades 2 and 3.
A Staff Development Model (SDM) and a Research-Based Assessment Plan (RAP), developed by researchers at the University of Georgia were investigated for their potential to improve the identification and education of gifted students from economically disadvantaged families, some of whom may have limited proficiency in the English language.

The Center for Oral History at the University of Connecticut originates, supports and sponsors projects which emphasize Connecticut's history and development, as well of projects that deal with a wide variety of other subjects, including the University itself.
It was designated a Center by the University's Board of Trustees in 1981, and continues to increase both the number of research projects coming under its umbrella and the services it provides.

Diana Levy generously donated the map in honor of her husband, Colonel Levy, who grew up in Abingdon, Connecticut, before entering U.S. Army, Military Intelligence.

I would like to be a part of the teach-in project on my campus, the University of Connecticut at Storrs.
Although by April 9-10, the US will be at war in Iraq, I believe strongly that all of us will have to keep up the struggle to try to prevent our country from becoming a rogue state engaged in empire-building in the 21st century.
I teach a course on the history of human rights in my department (history), and another colleague in my department, Paul Goodwin, has participated in discussions about the drive for war that have been sponsored on campus.
