 | | The University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa, has announced a five-year, $32 million gift, the largest in its history, in support of an initiative that will focus on intentional character formation among students, faculty, and staff, the Associated Press reports. |
 | | The gift from Nancy and Dick Wendt, who originally are from Dubuque and now reside in Oregon, will be used to create the Lester G. Wendt and Michael Lester Wendt Character Initiative, which is named for Dick Wendt's father and the couple's late son. |
 | | "Their gift will assist the university to become a leader among colleges and universities in the intentional development and the promotion of attitudes and life choices associated with sound moral character in our students," said university president Jeffrey F. Bullock. |
