The University of Frankfurt has always been considered liberal, or left-leaning, and has had a reputation for Jewish and Marxist scholarship (or even Jewish-Marxist).
The University of Frankfurt is best known for the Institute for Social Research (founded 1924), institutional home of the Frankfurt School, one of the most important 20th century schools of philosophy and social thought at all.
The most famous University of Frankfurt scholars are associated with this school, including Theodor Adorno, Max Horkheimer, and Jürgen Habermas, as well as Herbert Marcuse, Erich Fromm, and Walter Benjamin.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, he was not able to receive his degree at that time, but the results of his work were published as a monograph in 1939 ("Die pliozäne Flora von Frankfurt am Main") in the "Abhandlungen der Senckenbergischen Naturforschenden Gesellschaft, 446".
He finally received his doctoral degree (Dr. rer nat.) in 1963 from the Technical University of Hannover with a thesis on spores and pollen from the German Triassic ("Die geologische Verbreitung von Sporen und Pollen in der Deutschen Trias") which was published in 1964 as "Beihefte zum Geologischen Jahrbuch, 65".

Surgical management of acute thoracic aortic ruptures is controversial, as especially in patients with preexisting comorbidities associated mortality and paraplegia rates remain high.
To evaluate the results of Antegrade Selective Cerebral Perfusion (ASCP) as a method of brain protection during surgery of the thoracic aorta and to determine predictors of hospital mortality and adverse neurological outcome.
Although variation in hospital mortality rates for CABG is well described, it is unknown whether hospital performance with CABG is correlated with performance with heart valve replacement.
