I graduated in Mathematics from the University of Lisbon (Faculty of Sciences) in 1985, and obtained my PhD in Mathematics from the Technical University of Lisbon (Faculty of Engineering) in 1989, where I became Assistant Professor and, in April 1992, Associate Professor.
In 2002 I became leader of the Laboratory for Global Computing (LabMOL) at the University of Lisbon.
