Minnesota is one of the best high school wrestling states in the country with several boys teams nationally ranked every year and one of the best state wrestling tournaments in the nation.
For the University to speak of "Vision and Mission" and at the same time withhold information that proves to be critical to the decision making process for young adults and their families, is harmful and counter productive to the positive relationship necessary between university and family.
Morris only needs to embrace the resource it has in wrestling because there is a tradition and a level of success in both programs that the UMM community should be proud of and willing to nourish.

Morris entered the game with a double overtime victory over Crown College and a tragic accident which resulted in the death of a basketball player in the victory celebration the previous Saturday.
Morris received the opening kickoff and drove 53 yards in 7 plays with a Karschnik to Fragodt 30 yard touchdown pass giving Morris a 6-0 lead.

The University is investigating the technical, financial and regulatory considerations of using biomass fuel, specifically, oat hulls, at its Minneapolis campus heating plant.
While the University’s current boiler configuration requires that oat hulls be mixed with and burned together with coal, a goal of the oat hull project is to determine whether or not oat hulls could be burned in combination with natural gas or by themselves.
An initiative is now underway to establish a biomass gasification system on the University of MinnesotaMorris campus that will focus on using corn stoves as the primary fuel source to provide up to 75 percent of the heat and cooling loads for the campus from alternative energy.

But wind turbines like the one at the University mean we can create one renewable resource by using another one.
Using turbines to produce hydrogen also solves one of the big problems associated with wind power: they only generate power when the wind is blowing, which doesn't help with the power crunch on a hot, but calm, sunny day.
