The University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) is a full-fledged multidisciplinary university committed to training of professionally competent personnel in the fields of engineering (its main feature), management, commerce, arts, science and medicine.
USST, the amalgamation of East China University of Technology and Shanghai Institute of Mechanical Technology, has an enduring history, the former originated from Shanghai Industry School set up on the original campus of University of Shanghai aka Hujiang University(1906- 1952) after liberation, and the latter originated from Deutche Medizinschule set up in 1907.
USST has long been expanding its activities of international academic exchanges, successively establishing inter-university relationship with about 10 universities in the counties and areas of Germany, America, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, Russia and Hong Kong, and sending scholars mutually to give lectures.
