Our long-range goal is to build a single master tree-ring chronology for the Aegean and Near East that will extend from the present to the seventh millennium B.C. or whenever timbers began to be used in quantity as construction material in settled communities.
The Malcolm and Carolyn Wiener Laboratory for Aegean and Near Eastern Dendrochronology is supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Malcolm H. Wiener Foundation, the National Geographic Society, the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, and individual Patrons of the Aegean Dendrochronology Project.

Ayse Pamuk is Associate Professor of Urban Studies at San Francisco State University and a visiting scholar at University of California, Berkeley's Institute of Urban and Regional Development.
She came to SFSU in fall 2000 after having taught graduate and undergraduate courses for urban planning students at the University of Virginia including quantitative methods, housing policy, and urban theory.
Uppsala University in Sweden as a visiting scholar, and was a junior international fellow in urban studies at the Institute for Policy Studies of the Johns Hopkins University (1985-86).
