Universities UK began life as the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals of the Universities of the United Kingdom (CVCP) in the nineteenth century when there were informal meetings involving Vice-Chancellors of a number of universities and Principals of university colleges.
Western Illinois University A university is an institution of higher education and of research, which grants academic degrees at all levels (bachelor, master, and doctor) in a variety of subjects.
St Matthias is a campus of the University of the West of England (commonly known as UWE), and is located in the suburb of Fishponds in Bristol.

 University of the West of England - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Its main campus is at Frenchay, about 5km north of the city centre with a smaller campus at St Matthias, a Faculty of Health and Social Care at Glenside in north-east Bristol and an Art school, Bower Ashton college, near Ashton Court in south-west Bristol.
With around 30,000 students and 3,000 academic staff, UWE is the larger of the two universities in the city (the longer established University of Bristol has 15,000 students).
Part of this institution (to which the Universities of Bristol and Bath also partly owe their origins) became a technical college which, after merger with various other colleges, in turn became the polytechnic.
