The /etc/mail/lookupLibs files: This is new in UnixWare 2 and is a file containing the names of the shared libraries to be opened when the mailalias command (which is run by mail when parsing the mailsurr file).
In UnixWare 2.x an smtpd daemon process listens on port 25 to receive mail Once mail is received by the smtp receiver it is passed to the rmail process which then uses the regular expression based parser (/etc/mail/mailsurr) to decide how to do deliver the mail.
In UnixWare 2 logs are now kept in directories with a different log being stored each day in a file denoted by the day name, ie.

UnixWare - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
UnixWare is a flavor of the Unix operating system.
For some time in the early 1990s UnixWare was one of the "three pillars" of Novell's long-term business strategy, as Ray Noorda put it, they were "NetWare, UnixWare and AppWare".
Having failed to make any headway with the technically interesting DR-DOS, it appears Noorda saw UnixWare as a way to make an "end run" around Windows' dominance, providing Novell with a powerful operating system that could complete with NT (which was not yet well established), but with a much longer history and considerably more testing.

UnixWare Frequently Asked Questions (Miscellaneous Troubleshooting)
Other UnixWare 2.x drivers require that you use DCU (Device Configuration Utility) to configure the driver or set the scsi controller to the predetermined interrupt, I/O port, and/or memory address before installation.
Since UnixWare's default is IRQ 5 for the fdeb driver, you must change it in the DCU (or set the IRQ to 5 in the hardware).
The error that it fixes can lead to an install session failure: If you are installing UW 2.01 on a system that is already attached to a network which is in use, you will undoubtedly experience a system crash during the portion of the setup which detects and installs support for the NIC.

UnixWare 2.0: I have never heard of anyone getting this under UnixWare 2.0, but the same memory problems would be at fault.
UnixWare 1.1: To do this you first must edit the /etc/conf/sdevice.d/sockmod system file and increase the number in the third field.
UnixWare 2.0: There are several causes that lead to not having enough socket connections: 1) The ulimit values may be limiting the number of open files allowed.

With the newest release of The SCO Group's UnixWare, it could be said that this variety of Unix is starting to look a lot more like Linux - even if SCO lawyers pulled the Linux Kernel Personality modules from the operating system during the course of our testing last month.
UnixWare did well in our Web connectivity and performance tests, but wasn't as advanced as its Linux rivals in terms of its GUI and hardware discovery facilities.
The maximum number of open TCP connections UnixWare could sustain was 54,208, which is higher than the previously tested Apple combination. This began to approach all other operating systems running on four-way machines that tally open TCP connection rates between 68,000 and 87,000 maximum open TCP connections.

If this was just Unixware 2.12 with a few Openserver tools grafted on, I'd think it was OK, but I wouldn't be chomping at the bit.
There is the ability to get to a boot manager (both during installation and after) that allows setting variables, and it may well be that between that, the DCU and HBA's that everything that we can do with defbootsr can still be accomplished, but I've got some definite fuzziness right here.
Unixware uses the "slice" terminology for what we call divisions in Openserver.
