Unplugged (Eric Clapton album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Unplugged is an album by Eric Clapton released in 1992.
Clapton earned two Grammy Awards for the album: Album of the Year and Rock Male Vocal.
Clapton was widely praised and criticized for heavily reworking many of his famous songs so they would work in an acoustic context, some to the point of being near unrecognizable (most notably with his version of "Layla"; before he performed it, he commented "see if you can spot this one").

 Eric Clapton Album Reviews
Eric Clapton was always enamored with The Band, whose Music From Big Pink played a large role in the dissolution of Cream and inspired the direction of his subsequent solo career.
Clapton also picked excellent sidemen (and longtime associates) such as drummer Jim Keltner, keyboardist Chris Stainton (who shines throughout the album), guitarist Andy Fairweather Low, and harp player Jerry Portnoy (the album's most prominent sideman along with Stainton), thereby ensuring that all of the performances are typically classy and tasteful.
After a disappointing duet album with B.B. King (2000's Riding With The King) and a forgettable follow up to Pilgrim (2001's Reptile, which is most notable for the appearance of The Impressions on backing vocals), Eric Clapton retrenched and returned to his first and dearest love, the blues.

Clapton caught the "unplugged" trend just at the right time, when the public was hungry to hear how well rock stars and their material could hold up when stripped of elaborate production values.
Eric Clapton is such a musician, and some of the songs on the playlist of his "Unplugged" album are such pieces of music.
Eric is sadly underrated on his acoustic playing, but this proves just how versatile he is, especially on the G tuned resonator.

Clapton often rambles, Baker bangs on everything within reach without much forethought (in Sixties rock, that passed for virtuosity--see Keith Moon), and Jack Bruce's voice must be an acquired taste or something.
Clapton rose to the challenge, and the result is a phenomenal duel on one song after another.
Clapton was trying to be a little more gritty this time around by throwing in more heavy blues numbers like the nearly eight-minute "Early In The Morning" (the original LP release featured an edited version of the song).

The few Clapton fans who have not yet heard him 'unplugged' should have at least one listen of this cd to hear another facet of the great man. Unusually for Clapton, just over a third of the tracks on this cd were (co)written by Clapton.

Eric Clapton - Unplugged + everything
It sounds like the beginning of a story: "So, Slowhand and the King of the Blues were riding in a car..." If this is a musical journey, it's the kind that rolls down long, empty stretches of country highway at 80 miles an hour, with the top down and the stereo blasting.
Clapton and King may be more city than country, but this collection has the relaxed, laid-back feel that only comes from a pair of veterans doing what they do best.
The 1974 album on which Clapton's solo career truly caught fire, 461 Ocean Boulevard is best remembered for its hit version of Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff"--perhaps the first time many in America ever heard the rhythms of reggae music.
