MTV Unplugged in New York is a live album from the American rock band, Nirvana.
MTV Unplugged in New York was the first Nirvana album to be released following the apparent suicide of singer/ guitarist Kurt Cobain in April 1994, and was hailed by critics as proof that the band was able to transcend the grunge sound it had become commonly associated with.
MTV Unplugged in New York includes two songs which were not aired on the original television broadcast of the concert: "Something In The Way" and "Oh Me." Both the album and the broadcast omit a short jam of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama."

The sound on Unplugged In Newyork is amazing, from the from the melodic riffs of Dumb and All Apologies to the country and blues riffs in Plateau, Oh Me, Lake Of Fire and Where Did You Sleep Last Night this CD has a good viratity of sound.
Since there are no new songs on the album its hard to comment on the lyrics themselves, more on their excellent delivery.
Unplugged In New York is their best live albulm.
