The Midland railway map (or ‘Distance Diagram’ in Midland parlance) states that there was a siding for the ‘Upminster Brick Coy’ at the station, but does not indicate exactly where it was.
A station by the present electrical sub-station at the Front Lane bridge, or an Underground station would be much more use, although car parking at the centre of the parish would doubtless then become the next problem.
The line was opened to the public on 13 April 1854 and the trains used the Bishopsgate station of the ECR and the Fenchurch Street station of the LBR.

Upminster depot was opened in 1958 and replaced the old Little Ilford depot (which was between East Ham and Barking and now forms the site of the c2c depot).
It occupies a large site to the east of Upminster station and is accessed via quite long reception roads - one of which has a 'drive through' train wash which is routinely used when trains are leaving the depot to enter service.
The two depots are at Upminster at the east end of the line and Ealing Common at the west end.

Heathrow Terminal 4 station is unique in being the only tube station with a single platform edge, but the title is probably truly jointly owned by Chesham, one of the Northern outposts of the Metropolitan and Mill Hill East on the Northern.
