Just to see if I actually would enjoy scuba diving, if my suspicions were correct though, I'd follow it up with a 4 day PADI diving course at one of the many, well established dive companies in Cairns.
After 30 minutes of the most privileged, mind blowing experience on the planet, it must be what walking in space is for astronauts, I signed up for the afternoon dive at Upolo Cay.
A rather slow, smooth sail followed during lunch to Upolo Cay, one of the many coral islands on the Great Barrier Reef which is surrounded by a fringing reef.
